Well it never get any easier as the years pass losing any of your livestock - which in all reality is really a myth. These little critters actually become part of your family. Jessee James was one of my first bottle fed baby. He and his sister Star for some reason did not want to have anything to do with Mama's dam. So into the kitchen they went - spent six weeks in a porta crib in my kitchen. As Jessee grew I knew he would make a beautiful breeding buck and he did. His bloodline thru some beautiful babies. Early winter, he was knocked down the ramp by the other bucks and since then was really never the same. Went out this morning and Jessee looked so very peaceful - God has now, one beautiful breeding buck for his herd. He will truly be missed.
